Regular Polish Cons

​Chipping: you will be lucky to achieve 7 days with a flawless manicure Smudging or scuffing. Regular polish can take up to 24 hours to fully harden. Any a knocks to your nails will impact the polish Evaporation: Nail polish tends to thicken over time due to product evaporation. You need to keep it in tip top condition i.e. add nail polish thinner to alter the polish consistency Not as easy to achieve a flawless look using regular polish as its drying as soon as you open the bottle Need to allow sufficient time to dry each coat of polish

Gel Polish Pros

​A manicure can last 2-3 weeks Saturated market with different brands to satisfy needs and wants of anyone All imaginable colours available No evaporation of “true” gel polish No chipping or smudging

Gel Polish Cons

​Product needs to be soaked or filed off Requires a nail lamp to cure the gel. You need to use the lamp that is designed for the gel polish brand you are using. The lamp has been tested to work with the brand products and therefore it cannot be determined whether different brands of gel will fully cure Gel polish can shrink when applied to the nail. After curing, you may see the free edge exposed or the visible side walls. See image here Can be expensive depending upon the brand you are using as you need to ensure you have the appropriate lamp to cure the products.
